Suspected Boko Haram jihadists killed six people fighting alongside the military in two separate incidents in northeast Nigeria, vigilantes told AFP Sunday. Four of the slain vigilantes were hunting in the bush near a camp for internally displaced people on the outskirts of the city of Maiduguri when they were seized in a daytime attack. Muhammed Bello, Minister, Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA), has suspended all chieftaincy related appointments in traditional institutions in the territory. According to a statement on Sunday in Abuja, the suspension was contained in a recent circular released by the Office of the FCT Permanent Secretary, Dr Babatope Ajakaiye. Ajakaiye added that the suspension was as a result of complaints, petitions and legal tussles among interested parties.
