The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, has warned state governors against reduction in remunerations and hours of work of workers. In a statement issued by Mr Samuel Olowokere, Deputy Director Press in the ministry, Ngige said the warning was necessary to restore industrial harmony and forestall breakdown of law and order. Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia on Tuesday shunned the state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) which protested the reported recent killing of workers in Nasarawa.
