The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, performed optimally nationwide during the presidential election. Yakubu stated this while giving an update on Saturday at the National Collation Centre briefing in Abuja. He explained that according to reports reaching the Commission, all went relatively well with its technologies. “There were ballot boxes snatched here and there, but it appears that the target of those who want to undermine the election is the BVAS. We would continue to do everything to protect the process and proceed courageously,” he stated.
