Governor Nasiru El-Rufa’i of Kaduna State, said on Saturday that the state government would rehabilitate the Zaria Prison at N24 million. He stated this in Zaria during an inspection of the prison. Some aggrieved inmates of the prison on May 28 set part of the prison ablaze during a riot, while two inmates escaped. A rights advocacy group, Access to Justice, has condemned Governor Nyesom Wike’s dissolution of the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission and the state Judicial Service Commission.
