The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Nasarawa State has suspended its four months old strike after it entered an agreement that culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Nasarawa State Government. Speaking to journalists, Tuesday, in Lafia, Jemo Musa, chairman of the union in the state, told journalists that JUSUN suspended the strike due to a commitment made by the government. The Kogi State Government on Monday reversed its earlier decision to slash workers’ salaries by 60 per cent. The Chairman of the state chapter of the NLC, Onu Edoka, announced this to newsmen in Lokoja after a meeting with a government delegation. He said all workers would receive their April salaries in full, while discussion on the May salary had been put on hold pending the arrival of the state governor from a foreign trip. The Police have transferred 11 suspected cult group leaders arrested in Edo to Abuja to face prosecution. The Force Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ojukwu, who presented the suspects to newsmen in Abuja on Monday, added that 109 suspects had been arrested so far in connection with cult-related crimes.
