The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for Ado/Opoku/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency in Benue State, Christian Adabah Abah, as winner of the February 2015 general elections. Boko Haram insurgents have raided six villages in Michika Local Government Area of Adamawa State, a local hunter, Ibrahim Gulak has said. Speaking on the phone from Michika, Gulak said the insurgents killed “several people” in the attack; kidnapped several youths and women and destroyed property worth millions of Naira in the areas. The Independent National Electoral Commission says it has so far distributed over 1.7 million Permanent Voter Cards in Plateau State. Mr Yagba Kundu, INEC’s Head of Electoral Operations in the state, told the News Agency of Nigeria in Jos, on Sunday, that the cards were for those that registered in 2011. “Those that registered in November 2014 would get theirs before the general elections. “We collected 1,359,805 PVCs meant for plateau from our headquarters; we have so far distributed 1,728,352 which represents 78.9 per cent”.
