Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, has called for an increase in the allowances of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members. The corps members are presently paid N19, 800 monthly by the Federal Government. Gov. Bala Ngilari of Adamawa has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to postpone the conduct of the February elections in the state until April due to insecurity. A brigadier general and 21 other army officers have been ordered to face a court martial over alleged sabotage in the war against Islamist militant group Boko Haram, according to Reuters, which cited two military sources.
