The All Progressives Congress (APC) has slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the recent redeployment of Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs), a move the commission said it made as part of ways to ensure a free and fair election in 2015. The Kano State Hisba Board said on Saturday that it had facilitated the return of 52 street beggars to their states of origin. The Public Relations Officer of the board, Malam Mohammed Yola, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano. Gov. Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom has granted amnesty to eight prisoners serving various sentences in Uyo, Calabar, Ikot-Ekpene and Port Harcourt in the spirit of the New Year celebration. The Sokoto State Government security outfit, Sokoto Marshals Corps, on Friday said it had prosecuted more than 100 motorcyclists for violating traffic rules in Sokoto city and its environs in the last two months.
