Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday narrowly escaped death along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway. According to reports, Obasanjo was on his way to the 80th birthday ceremony of the Pool Manager, Sir Kesington Adebunkola Adebutu, when the incident happened. Borno State Governor Alhaji Kashim Shettima, has revealed that Boko Haram insurgents have lost much ground in his state. Yobe Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Abuja on Wednesday upheld the election of Yobe State Governor Ibrahim Geidam. The tribunal’s chairman, Justice Mojisola Dada, in the judgment delivered today, dismissed the petition filed by Adamu Maina Waziri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for his inability to prove beyond reasonable doubt that there were electoral malpractices in the April 11, 2015 governorship poll in the state. The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) said it had begun investigation of Tuesday’s wing-tip brush by two Boeing 737-800NG belonging to Arik Air at the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos.
