Human rights lawyer, Bamidele Aturu has died in Lagos after a brief illness. Aturu, who has over the years shown unbridled commitment to human rights and constitutionalism. A commercial passenger boat capsized at the Coconut Island channel area of Lagos, with one passenger declared missing and many others sustaining various injuries. The incident happened around the Iba and Tincan Island area of the state. While other passengers of the local boat were rescued alive, Adekunle as at press time was yet to be found despite rescue efforts. The Kano State Government has signed a cooperation agreement with the French government to promote French language in the state.
