Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State yesterday declared that he may not seek a second term as governor of the state.
He made this known in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of the state while addressing a church congregation at the First Session of the 2nd Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Ohaji/Egbema held at St. Paul’s Church Mgbirichi.
Okorocha informed the congregation that he may not come to anybody in the state to campaign or seek for votes for re-election in the forthcoming 2015 general election because of his interest to contest the presidential election.
Describing governorship position as burdensome, Okorocha added that he knew the risk he took when he forced power out of “the evil one”.
He said: “I went to the land of demons to force power out of the evil one for the good of Imo people”.
Okorocha has never hidden his desire to contest for the highest office in the land as he has often told Imo people that if given the opportunity to run for the office of president, he would achieve more than both the present government and the previous leaders.
Earlier, the Anglican Bishop of Ohaji/Egbema Diocese Imo State, Rt. Revd. Chidi Collins Oparaojiaku informed the governor that the people of Ohaji/Egbema needed his intervention in the areas of electricity and road rehabilitation.
