President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday appointed Prof. Rufa’i Alkali as his Special Adviser on Political Affairs more than a month after sacking Ahmed Gulak. The appointment was contained in a press release by the president’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati. According to the statement, the President also appointed Hajia Baraka Sani as his Senior Special Assistant for Schools Agriculture Programme. Abati said the appointments were with immediate effect. The police command in Borno, on Thursday, presented N16 million cash to families of 16 policemen who died in May after suspected insurgents attacked Ngala, headquarters of Gamboru-Ngala Local Government Council in Borno.
