Armed bandits have launched coordinated attacks on four villages in Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State, leaving several residents dead, injured, and abducted.
The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday by security analyst Bakatsine.
According to the report, the attacks occurred on Monday night, targeting the communities of Yallaya, Gadar Dan Zarrah, Kwandawa, and Jibo.
Residents said the assailants stormed the villages, shooting sporadically and causing panic as locals fled into nearby bushes for safety.
“Yesterday night, bandits stormed Yallaya, Gadar Dan Zarrah, Kwandawa and Jibo villages in Kankia LGA, Katsina State, killing, injuring, and abducting residents,” Bakatsine wrote.
As of press time, security authorities had yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
