Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has declared that the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) will neither engage in electoral malpractice nor allow its candidates to be cheated during the 2027 general elections.
Mohammed made the declaration at the Government House in Bauchi during the affirmation of candidates for elective positions under the party’s platform.

The governor said the APM remains committed to democratic principles and would resist any attempt to deny the party victory through electoral manipulation.
“We are not going to think less of our competitors. Even if a child born today is a candidate, I will treat him like an adult,” he said.
“It is a new game entirely. We are going back to the communities to share our qualifications and what we have accomplished.”
Mohammed stressed that the party would campaign based on its achievements and credentials rather than resort to unfair practices.
“We won’t ask anyone to cheat for us, but we also won’t let anyone cheat us. This is our policy,” he stated.
The governor also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure a transparent, credible and fair electoral process ahead of the 2027 polls.
According to him, the integrity of the electoral process is essential to sustaining democracy and public confidence in elections.
“If we win, we will accept it. If we lose, we will accept it, especially when there is openness, fairness and equality. That is democracy,” Mohammed added.
He urged party members and supporters to remain focused on grassroots mobilisation and issue-based campaigns as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
