Barring any unforeseen circumstances, President Bola Tinubu will leave Nigeria on Tuesday to travel to the Republic of Benin and celebrate their 63rd year of independence.
According to a statement released by President Patrice Talon’s Special Adviser on Special Duties, Communication, and Strategy Dele Alake, the ceremony’s Special Guest will be his principal, who also serves as Chairman of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States.
Before their recent meeting at the State House in Abuja, Tinubu and Talon had previously met on the sidelines of the New Global Financing Pact summit in Paris, France; at the 63rd Ordinary Session of the Authority of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS held in Guinea-Bissau; and with the leaders of three other West African nations, whom the President of the Benin Republic had invited to the anniversary celebration.

According to the release, Tinubu had also brought to the attention of the Beninese leader the importance of reviewing and strengthening cultural, trade, and economic ties between the two nations, with particular emphasis on increased cooperation between the two countries’ Customs agencies and the harmonization of frontline rules.
According to Alake, President Talon has invited six governors to accompany him on his one-day tour, and those governors, together with the President’s personal aides, will accompany him.
Ogun’s Dapo Abiodun, Lagos’ Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Oyo’s Seyi Makinde, Kwara’s AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq, Kebbi’s Nasir Idris, and Niger’s Mohammed Umar Bago are the six governors.
