Fresh details have emerged about the arrest of popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border on Monday.
Witnesses told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that Bobrisky arrived at the departure section of the border around 1:30 a.m. in a black Mercedes Benz SUV.
According to sources, Port Health officials initially attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not halt until reaching the Immigration checkpoint.

“Idris handed over his passport to the driver for stamping at the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) post,” a source explained.
“The immigration surveillance officer, identified as Yusuf, reviewed the passport and recognized the passenger as Bobrisky.”
Yusuf immediately alerted the most senior officer on duty, who discreetly summoned the Controller of Immigration at the Seme Command, Mr. Muhammad Adamu.
The surveillance officer then invited Bobrisky to the capture unit for biometric processing, where the crossdresser was taken to the controller’s office for further questioning.
A separate source disclosed that Bobrisky’s lawyer arrived at the border later in the day to inquire about the reason for his arrest.
“He remained in the controller’s office until 4:00 p.m., when he was transferred to the Lagos State Command of the NIS for further investigation,” the source added.
The Nigeria Immigration Service confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday.
The Service’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Kenneth Udo, explained that Bobrisky was arrested as a “person of interest” due to “recent issues of public concern.”
“In line with our mandate to secure the nation’s borders, NIS intercepted Bobrisky at the Seme Border while he attempted to exit the country,” Udo said in a statement from Abuja.
Udo further disclosed that Bobrisky is currently undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to relevant authorities for further action.
