President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday approved the appointment of Abdullahi Gana as the new Commandant-General of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC.
Gana’s appointment as the new Commandant-General was contained in a statement by Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.
Until his appointment, Mr. Gana, an indigine of Muye in Lapai LGA of Niger State, was an Assistant Commandant-General of the NSCDC.
The Uthman Danfodio University, Sokoto graduate of Sociology, takes over from Prof. Ade Abolurin, who retired after ten years of meritorious service as pioneer helmsman of the NSCDC.
The NSCDC boss also holds a Masters degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
