The co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) campaign, Oby Ezekwesili has accused the Federal Government of making mockery of its fight against corruption.
This is coming on the heels of the Senate’s refusal to confirm the appointment of Ibrahim Magu, as the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Ezekwesili, in a series of tweets, said the rejection of Magu by the Senate for the second time, is a national disgrace.
She said “A Govt that campaigned on Anti-Corruption is making a MOCKERY of its war. PITIFUL. @MBuhari @NGRSenate @bukolasaraki @officialEFCC.
“Between Presidency of @MBuhari & the @NGRSenate of @bukolasaraki whatever game is being played with @officialEFCC is a NATIONAL DISGRACE.”
“Presidency should explain to Citizens why Prez @MBuhari who is privy to DSS report on Magu of @officialEFCC renominated him to @NGRSenate ,” she added.’
The Senate rejected the confirmation of Magu’s confirmation after screening him on Wednesday, March 15, 2017.
