Godswill AkpabioSenate minority leader, Godswill Akpabio says the trial of Senate President Bukola Saraki ‘slowed down Nigeria’s economy.’

Akpabio stated this during plenary on Thursday, June 15, 2017.

Saraki was discharged and acquitted by the Code of Conduct (CCT) on Wednesday, June 14, 2017.

Akpabio said the price of shares at the Stock Exchange has risen since Saraki won his case at the CCT.

“It’s a good sign that the economy is bouncing back as a result of the victory,” Akpabio said.

“Mr President I was listening to Channels Television. I’m giving him an information of what happened at the stock exchange, shares prices went up.
