Senegal player, Krepin Diatta has come out to label CAF officials as corrupt after his nation’s shock round of 16 AFCON defeat to the Ivory Coast. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, consulting VAR to give the host nation a penalty is all the proof he needs to know that CAF is corrupt, especially when Senegal were denied their own clear penalty in the same game.
Diatta added that the decisions in the game were ridiculous, and the officials have killed the competition.
His words, “You’ve killed us, you’re corrupt! Keep your African Cup! You go and consult VAR to give them a penalty, but a guy (Sarr) runs 40 metres, overlaps, breaks into the box and you can’t go and look at the VAR. I’m sorry, but it’s ridiculous. I’m really sorry, but they’ve killed our competition there.”
