The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has described the recent gruesome massacre of rural dwellers in Enugu State as an act of terrorism, which he said should be condemned in its entirety.
Prince Madumere made this statement on behalf of Governor Rochas Okorocha while receiving peaceful protesting members of Imo State chapter of Christian Association of Nigeria led by the chairman, Bishop Stafford Nworgu.
The group bearing placards with inscriptions were protesting over the recent Enugu massacre by the herdsmen, proposed national grazing bill at the National Assembly among other issues.
Prince Madumere applauded the people of the South East and Christian Association of Nigeria for their peaceful conduct even in the face of provocation. He said the group were only exercising their fundamental rights of expressing how they feel over the unfortunate development of continual killing of innocent people especially the women and children.
The deputy governor assured them that those behind the condemnable massacre will not go unpunished as they will be caught up with by long arm of law.
