The State Commissioner for Health Dr. Tamunoiyoriari Parker has commended the Management of Multimesh Broadcasting Corporation, owners of Family Love FM Station for partnering with the Rivers State Government to sensitize residents on Ebola Virus Disease.
Health Commissioner Dr. Tamunoiyoriari Parker made this Commendation when he paid a courtesy call on the Management of the Station to thank them for the sensitization programmes embarked upon for the disseminated to assuage fears of the populace.
According to him Ebola has been contained but the battle is still on as long as there is Ebola in Liberia and Sierra Leone we cannot rest on our oars, “the operation centre is still open, sensitization and enlightenment programmes are ongoing” he said.
The Commissioner implored the station to continue with its positive communications saying “Ebola is not a death sentence”. He stressed the importance of hand washing, avoidance of self medication and the need to report any suspected case promptly.
Also speaking the station Manager of Family Love FM, Patricia Idowu said her company will continue to redouble its efforts at providing the necessary information to tackle Ebola, stating that the management of her company in collaboration with Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals Plc donated sanitizers to the Rivers State Government and NDDC.
