    Conduct Tribunal adjourns defense against former Ijemu LGA Counsellor to October 27

    ABUJA (Conduct Tribunal Report)

    The Code of Conduct Tribunal sitting in Abuja has adjourned the defence in the case involving the former Counsellor of Ijemu Local Government Area in Kogi State, Musa Mubeen on refusal to declare his assets within the stipulated time to the 27th of October 2015.

    Speaking during the session which held on Tuesday 28th of July 2015, the Defence Counsel, Taiye Atotileto (Barrister) in his address to the court explained that he was appearing on behalf of his principal, who was engaged in another tribunal case outside Abuja. He also informed that the Counsel has applied for the record of proceedings on the matter to be produced from its inception to enable him study the case and prepare his defence; noting that he had just taken over the case from the previous counsel.

    The leading Prosecutor, Musa Ibrahim, who is a Senior State Counsel in the Code of Conduct Bureau in his comments advised the court not to object to the request.

    In his ruling, the Chairman of the Tribunal, Danladi Yakubu Umar and the other jury, Agwadza William Atedze adjourned the matter to the 27th of October 2015 for defence. They also ordered the court registry to provide the Defence Counsel with the record of proceedings on the charge which is contained in file no CCT/KG/05/08 brought before the tribunal on the 26th of November, 2008 on defilement of the Code of Conduct Bureau /Tribunal Act.
