The immediate past Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi, says he will start talking soon after his successor, Governor Nyesom Wike, finishes talking about the allegation of corruption in his (Amaechi’s) administration.
Amaechi, who made this known in Abuja at the Chartered Institute of Project Management of Nigeria (CIPMN), said it was strange that Wike could accuse him of corruption.
“I feel awkward being here today. The reason of the awkwardness is that I was invited to come and talk about (how to tackle) corruption in government when Mr. Wike is busy accusing me of corruption. But we will talk when he finishes his allegation”, he said.
Amaechi did not speak further on the issue.
The ex-governor said most government officials lost their moral authority because they take money from contractors and supervisors.
