Court Sacks Ifeanyi Ubah As Anambra State Senator

Ifeanyi UbahA Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in the Bwari area of Abuja, has sacked Ifeanyi Ubah as the senator representing Anambra South.

With this latest ruling, Justice Bello Kawu turned down Ifeanyi’s request to wave the order issued in a judgment delivered by the court on April 11, 2019.

Remember that the Young Peoples Party (YPP) politician was fired for allegedly submitting a forged National Examination Council (NECO) certificate to contest the February 23, 2019 senatorial election.

After dismissing him from public office, the judge ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to withdraw the certificate of return issued to Ubah.

The court added that INEC should issue a new certificate of return to Dr. Obinna Uzoh of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who came second in the election.

After the court’s decision, Ifeanyi filed an application before the court, asking for an order that will wave the judgment, but he has also failed.

Even if Justice Kawu threw out Ubah’s application for lacking merit, he also waved a different claimant to the PDP senatorial ticket, Chief Chris Uba filed, asking to be joined as an interested party in the substantive suit.
