The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has called on Nigerians to reject the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the polls in 2027, accusing the ruling party of failing to address the nation’s growing insecurity.
In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Mark Adebayo, the CUPP expressed outrage over the recent massacre of 40 farmers in Borno State by the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) on January 12.
Adebayo described the incident as a tragic example of the Federal Government’s inability to protect its citizens.

“The escalating insecurity across Nigeria, with thousands of lives lost and millions displaced due to terrorist attacks and kidnappings, underscores the government’s failure to fulfill its primary responsibility of safeguarding the nation,” Adebayo said.
The coalition accused the APC-led government of neglecting its duty despite substantial investments in counter-terrorism efforts.
It called for a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s security architecture and urged the electorate to vote for a government capable of effectively addressing the security crisis.
“This administration has demonstrated a consistent lack of capacity to tackle insecurity, making Nigeria increasingly unsafe for its citizens and unattractive to both local and foreign investors.
The APC must be rejected in 2027 to avert further catastrophe,” the CUPP warned.
The coalition also extended condolences to the families of the victims and demanded immediate and decisive action to restore peace and stability in the country.
