Justice A. O. Faji of the Federal High court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State today adjourned to Thursday June 11 for hearing of the bail application brought by three Central Bank of Nigeria staff and five others in the on going case of conspiracy, fraud and stealing preferred against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC.
At today sitting, Justice Faji ordered both the prosecution and defence counsel to harmonize their processes by ensuring that all parties were dully served.
The accused persons: Kolawole Babalola, Olaniran Muninu Adeola, Toogun Phikip (all CBN staff); Isaac Akano, Ayodele Festus Adeyemi Oyebanji Akeem, Ayodeji Aleshe, Ajiwe Sunday Adegoke ( staff of First Bank) are alleged to have conspired to defraud the apex bank and First Bank of Nigeria of over N8bn.
The judge also adjourned hearing of the bail application brought by three CBN staff :Kolawole Babalola, Olaniran Muninu Adeola, Toogun Phikip; and threer staff of Wema Bank: Ademola Dolapo, Afolabi Esther, Ollunike and Ademola Ebenezer Adewale to June 11, 2015. He ordered both prosecution and defence counsel to harmonize their processes and ensued that all parties were dully served. The accused persons are alleged to have defrauded the CBN and Wema Bank of over N4bn.
The accused persons are remanded in prison custody pending the determination of their bail applications.
