Phillips, Social Network) as the Keynote Speaker for the 2014 conference on November 10th & 11th at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto.
As a producer and the President of Trigger Street Productions, Brunetti most recently produced the Golden Globe and Academy Award nominated Captain Phillips, starring Tom Hanks and directed by Paul Greengrass. He is also a producer on the highly acclaimed Netflix Original Series House of Cards. In addition to having a massive following, the show received nine Primetime Emmy Award nominations in 2013 and was also nominated for four Golden Globes. It has changed the industry in terms of its perception of online television distribution, and subsequently received thirteen Emmy nominations this year, including Outstanding Drama Series. In 2009, he produced the film The Social Network, directed by David Fincher, which received numerous accolades including eight Academy Awards and six Golden Globe nominations. Brunetti won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture, as well as many others including the National Board of Review and The Critics Choice Award. As a digital innovator, he and Kevin Spacey launched a social networking platform in 2002 for undiscovered writing and filmmaking talent. In 2013, he won a Special Achievement Webby Award for his lasting impact on the web.
Brunetti will kick off nextMEDIA 3.0 in an intimate fireside discussion with host Amber Mac on digital distribution and the future outlook for any creative content in an industry rapidly changing by social media and digital marketing.
