Following the scrapping of the Ministry of Capital City Development and the splitting of the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, and the Ministry of Energy, Bayelsa State Governor, Mr. Seriake Dickson has sacked two commissioners from the state executive council.
The affected commissioners are James Dugo (Local Government and Community Development) and Barrister Zuwa Konugha (Capital City Development).
Their sack was contained in a statement signed by Dickson’s Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson.
According to the statement, their removal was in line with government ongoing re-organisation and repositioning of the ministries, departments and agencies.
The statement reads, “In furtherance of ongoing efforts at re-organizing and repositioning Ministries, Departments and Agencies for optimal performance and delivery of the restoration agenda of the Bayelsa Government, His Excellency, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, Governor of Bayelsa State, announced the scrapping of the Ministry of Capital City Development and the splitting of the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, and the Ministry of Energy.
“In the light of the foregoing, the commissioners of the former Ministry of Local Government and Community Development, Mr. James Dugo and Barrister Zuwa Konuga of the Capital City Development have been relieved of their positions as members of the State Executive Council”.
Governor Dickson thanked the affected officials for their services to the government and people of the state and wished them well, assuring that, they could still be called upon to serve the state in other capacities in the future.
