Governorship candidate for PDP, Jimi Agbaje has warned politicians to respect the wish of Nigerians when they decide to vote for an aspirant of their choice.
Jimi expressed his unhappiness at the recent voters intimidation that occurred during the last election a week ago.
His words, “When you have a situation where thousands of people are put in danger just because they chose to exercise this right and the government turns a blind eye, it has broken that contract. I visited some of the areas that were affected by violence and it’s understandable why voters are disappointed and angry, even afraid.
I get it but when good people do nothing, evil prevails. Last week, the oppression was at the polling stations, this week, business activities were threatened, tomorrow, God forbid, it could extend to our homes so, the only way to stop this tyranny is to vote out the tyrants.”
The governorship aspirant did not forget to seek for votes, he said, “Sitting this coming election out is not an option. To those who took the time and effort and made sacrifices to ensure that votes count, I salute you; I know how it feels to go the extra mile some times without any assurance of the desired outcome, it is painful and frustrating but what I also know is that freedom does not come easy, real victory requires perseverance and determination and, contrary to how you might feel, victory is at hand. The intimidation that we face in the hands of the ruling party is as a result of their own deep-seated fear that power’s slipping away.”
