The Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru, has attributed the recent Executive Order banning the use of tinted glasses and unregistered cars in the state to the increasing insecurity challenges.
Speaking at a special Church Service held at the New Government House Chapel in centenary city, Abakaliki, the governor emphasized the need for enhanced security measures in the state.
The governor’s remarks were made in response to the tragic killing of four police officers last week Friday along Hilltop Road, Ebonyi Local Government Area.

Governor Nwifuru disclosed that the assailants used tinted glass and unregistered vehicles in the attack, highlighting the danger posed by such vehicles in criminal activities.
Expressing his disapproval of public officials using tinted vehicles after being elected by the people, Governor Nwifuru emphasized the importance of transparency and accessibility.
He recalled his time as a speaker when he directed his drivers to remove all tinted glasses, stating, “I didn’t see why I should be hiding.”
Governor Nwifuru called on all stakeholders to prioritize security, especially in agricultural activities, which have been negatively affected by insecurity.
He assured that the government has intelligence on the activities of criminals and will take decisive action against them.
