The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has described the Eid-El-Kabir festival as a time for sober reflection and submission to the will of God.
In his congratulatory message to Muslims, CAN President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor said “Occasions like this call for sober reflection and submission to the will of the almighty in the life of a nation and its citizens,” he stated.
According to him, Nigeria is going through trying times; the harsh economic condition, the menace of Boko Haram, the recent Ebola pandemic and others. This is why the people of the country must pray during a religious festival like this and seek the face of God.
“I urge all faithful to use the occasion of the sallah celebrations to pray for our country and its leadership for no amount of prayer can be said to be too much for our nation,” Pastor Oritsejaor said.
On behalf of Christians in the”the entire Nigerian Christian community and I wish to felicitate with the leadership of the Muslim community in Nigeria and all faithful on the occasion of the 2014 Eid-el kabir celebrations.
