Ekiti State Executive Council has decided to meet the world bank requirements to assess the 2014 SEPIP programme grant meant to assist the government in funding education.
Speaking after the weekly Executive meeting, the duo of Commissioners for Works and Finance, Mr Kayode Osho and Chief Toyin Ojo noted that the SEPIP programme among other things, will help to encourage teachers in the rural areas as well as teachers taking core subjects.
The Council also approved the dualisation and asphalt overlay of the Afao-Aba Igbira juction road while the Samsung Engineeriing building awarded in 2013 to encourage youths in skill acquisition will be completed within seven weeks.
The Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) was also considered by the EXCO with a view to reviewing it to reflect the vision and mission of the current administration in line with her 6 cardinal programmes.
The State Executive Council also frowned at the inability of the Eclipse dynamics Limited to honour the contract awarded to it in 2013 to supply wheelie bins meant to dispose wastes with the sum of 24.3 million naira paid as mobilization fees.
The contract was therefore terminated while the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice was mandated to recover the fund into the coffers of the State.
