Babatunde Oke, the chairman of the Committee on Media and Public Affairs in the 7th Ekiti House of Assembly, has reaffirmed the legislators’ commitment to advancing the state’s development for shared prosperity.
Speaking on Monday in Ado-Ekiti during a media briefing ahead of a one-day retreat for Assembly members in partnership with Cavista Holdings, Oke emphasized the Assembly’s dedication to enhancing the state’s socio-economic landscape.
The theme of the retreat, scheduled for Wednesday, 21 February 2024, at Ikogosi Warm Springs Resorts, is “Enhancing Socio-Economic Development of Ekiti State Through the Private Sector and Foreign Direct Investment:

The Role of the Legislature.” Oke highlighted that the event aims to stimulate socio-economic growth in Ekiti State.
He noted that under the leadership of Adeoye Aribasoye, the legislators will collaborate with other government arms and stakeholders through judicious legislation.
Oke stated, “The Ekiti State House of Assembly, under the leadership of Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, will continue to work in synergy with other arms of government and various stakeholders through responsible and responsive legislation to keep Ekiti working towards shared prosperity.”
He outlined the retreat’s objectives, including fostering socio-economic development, promoting policy interventions, and strategizing for economic diversification.
The retreat will feature panel sessions on various economic sectors, with technocrats and facilitators as keynote speakers.
It will provide an avenue for stakeholders to critically review the state’s performance and identify areas requiring attention.
Additionally, the retreat will facilitate formal interactions between participants and government officials at national and state levels.
Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, the Speaker and Chairman of the Conference of Speakers of the Southwest States Houses of Assembly, will host his colleagues for the conference’s inaugural meeting under his leadership.
Discussions will focus on regional security and economic challenges.
