Fayemi Congratulates Olubadan On 100th Birthday

Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Samuel Odulana, Odugade1, on his attainment of 100 years.

 The Governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Yinka Oyebode, said the respected monarch had remained a blessing to the country which has benefited from the centenarian’s wealth of wisdom and experience.

 While noting that attaining 100 years in one’s lifespan is no mean feat, Dr. Fayemi said Oba Odulana’s longevity and good health must special blessing from God in an era of low life expectancy.

 He noted that political office holders including himself has benefited immensely from the wise counsel of the Olubadan whom he described as a father to all irrespective of political, cultural, religious and ethnic leanings.

 Dr. Fayemi noted that Olubadan’s previous roles as a soldier, public servant, administrator and community leader had prepared him for his present role of reigning over the largest city in black Africa.

 He said the traditional ruler has channelled his energy, time and resources towards the development of his kingdom to the envy of other cities in Nigeria and Africa.

 The Governor commended the Olubadan for his efforts in ensuring peace in his domain in particular and Nigeria at a time when the peaceful corporate existence of the country is under threat.

 Dr Fayemi remarked that Olubadan deserves to be celebrated for maintaining the dignity of royalty and serving as a role model to younger elements wishing to serve their communities in whatever capacity they find themselves.

 He congratulated the people of Ibadan in particular and Oyo State in general for the joy of Oba Odulana’s  centenary celebration. The Governor prayed God to grant the Olubadan more years of peaceful, successful and development-oriented reign and more service to his kingdom, the country and mankind.
