Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has accused Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, of abusing power and weakening the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, across the South-West region.
Fayose made the allegations during an interview on TVC, monitored by newsmen, where he claimed that Makinde had alienated many of those who supported his emergence as governor.
According to him, “almost everybody who worked for his ascension has been driven away.”

The former governor further alleged that Makinde had monopolised state assets, claiming that he “took over all the choice lands in the state.”
Fayose also accused the Oyo State governor of dismantling the PDP’s political structures in the South-West, insisting that his actions had severely weakened the party in the region.
“Makinde has destroyed all PDP structures in the South-West,” he said.
Questioning the credibility of the PDP’s internal processes in Osun State, Fayose alleged that a candidate who did not purchase the party’s nomination form eventually emerged as the party’s flag bearer.
He also narrated a personal experience in Osun State, alleging that Makinde orchestrated an attack against him during a political event.
“Makinde organised an attack on me in Osun,” Fayose claimed, describing the Oyo governor as “a small boy” politically.
Speaking on his political standing, Fayose described himself as an elder statesman, insisting that he governed Ekiti State without external influence.
“I fought my governorship without a godfather,” he said.
Fayose also openly declared his allegiance to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, saying, “I’m a Wike person. Anywhere Wike is, that is where I am.”
He, however, reiterated his loyalty to the PDP, stressing that he would never defect to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
