The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has called for security consciousness and responsible celebration as the Muslim faithful mark the Eid el-Fitr.
Wike made this call in a statement he personally signed, congratulating the Muslim Ummah as they bid farewell to the holy month of Ramadan.
He pointed out that the Eid el-Fitr also serves as a profound reminder of the values of compassion, generosity, and unity that lie at the heart of Islam.

Wike stated, “During Ramadan, we witnessed the spirit of self-discipline, compassion, and unity that defines this sacred month.
This is a time when we come together in solidarity, sharing meals, breaking fasts, and supporting one another in acts of charity and kindness.”
He urged everyone not to limit these acts of charity, love, and tolerance to only the holy month but to inculcate this culture into everyday lives.
Wike emphasized the need for continued prayers for Nigeria and its leaders for divine wisdom and guidance, especially as they work to overcome current challenges.
He highlighted the significance of unity and togetherness in the FCT, stating that it embodies diversity, tolerance, and harmony, serving as a symbol of unity for all Nigerians.
Wike called on residents to reaffirm their commitment to building a society where every individual is valued and respected, and where peace and harmony prevail.
He also encouraged residents to imbibe the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, which prioritizes the well-being and prosperity of all Nigerians.
Under this agenda, the FCTA is focusing on infrastructure development, healthcare, education, security, and economic empowerment.
Wike urged residents to celebrate Eid el-Fitr responsibly and be security-conscious at all times.
