Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini
believes his side shouldn’t aim for the Premier
League title and instead focus on a top four finish,
Goal.com reports.
.
The 27-year-old was heavily criticised last season
under the management of David Moyes, but looks
to have proved his worth so far in the current
campaign.
.
However, the Belgium international has revealed
that being top of the Premier League is not
manager Louis van Gaal’s priority target, as he is
more interested in keeping hold of a Champions
League spot.
.
“It is important because Manchester United have to
play in the Champions League, and we have the
quality for that,” he told Goal.
.
United are still on course to win the FA Cup after
seeing title rivals Manchester City and Chelsea get
knocked out in the previous round of fixtures.
.
“We will see if we can win the league in 2015-16, but
we have the FA Cup and Champions League
qualification to aim for. Then we will see next
season.”
.
Van Gaal’s side are currently sitting third on the
table, but are closely being followed by the likes of
Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Arsenal, with
Southampton currently occupying fourth.
.
Prior to the previous season, the Red Devils have
not finished their campaign without Champions
League qualification since 1995, an outcome that
the Dutch boss will surely not want to repeat
