    FG Declares May 29 Public Holiday

    The Federal Government has declared Thursday, May 29, 2014 as public holiday to mark the 2014 Democracy Day celebrations.

    Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, made the declaration in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday on behalf of the Federal Government.

    The statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Mrs Fatima Bamidele and made available to newsmen in Abuja, said the minister wished Nigerians a warm celebration of the Democracy Day.

    He urged Nigerians to support the transformation agenda of the government by participating actively in democratic governance to transform the nation to the next level.

    Comrade Moro also congratulated Nigerians on the attainment and celebration of another democratic year, urging Nigerians to join hands with President Goodluck Jonathan in the sustained efforts to build a peaceful and united nation.
