The Nigerian Federal Government has announced Tuesday, 9th April, and Wednesday, 10th April, 2024, as public holidays to commemorate the Eid El-Fitr celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, revealed this in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Aishetu Ndayako.
In the statement, the Federal Government congratulated all Muslim Ummah for the successful completion of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo urged all Muslim faithful to continue embodying the spirit of unity and to practice virtues such as kindness, love, tolerance, peace, good neighborliness, and compassion, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him).
He also called on Nigerians to maintain unity to enhance peace and oneness in the country.
The Minister extended warm wishes to all Muslim Ummah for a joyful Eid-el-Fitr celebration, praying for the peace, blessings, and favor of Allah upon everyone and the nation.
Muslims in Nigeria commenced the Ramadan fasting on 11th March 2024.
