The Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), has directed the corps command in Osun to ensure that motorists comply with the directive to install speed limit device in their vehicles.
Mr Augustine Aipoh, the FRSC Zonal Commander of Osun, Ondo and Oyo States, gave this directive at a workshop organised by the command in Osogbo on Wednesday.
The theme of the workshop is: “The strategic goals of the command towards professionalism’’.
He stressed the need to enforce the installation of the speed limit device by motorists in order to help checkmate speeding on the highways.
Aipoh urged the staff of the command to put in their best towards the effective implementation of the strategic goals.
Earlier, the Osun Sector Commander, Mr Ibrahim Umaru, disclosed that no fewer than 544 vehicles had been intercepted while 72 of them had installed the speed limit device.
Umaru said that 143 vehicles were booked while 411 were cautioned.
He warned his officers to ensure strict compliance of vehicle owners with the directive to install the device.
