Ini Dan-Nkang, the Chief Executive Officer, Brotherart Productions, recently talked about the need for the use of pedestrian lanes and bridges for safety.
Dan-Nkang added that his company would partner with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), to notify people on the importance of arts and the significance of symbols on the roads.
“We are partnering with the FRSC this year because their symbols are arts related, and it will help to lecture people on the signs on our roads and how to use them,’’ he said.
“We are using the opportunity to make people appreciate the value of arts and also to create and promote arts, culture and entertainment in the country.”
Dan-Nkang explained further that the FRSC signs and symbols included graphic illustrations and “ as such could be rightly described as artworks.’’
“This shows how deep the relationship between the FRSC and the visual art is, and should be.
“This is a fact that many people do not either know or realise,’’ he said.
“We all know that the FRSC is in the forefront of ensuring adherence to the word safety; however, they are particular about safety on the Nigerian roads.
“We also know that safety is one of the key factors of human existence and in the protection of lives and properties’’.
