A zero-tolerance for indiscipline message has been read out to Nigerian players Under-17 national side as they settle into their pre-tournament close camp in Katsina at the weekend.
The Golden Eaglets are preparing for the 2015 Fifa Under-17 World Cup in Chile, beginning from 17 October to 8 November. They have been drawn in Group A along with the host nation, Croatia and the USA.
“The technical crew in line with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) directives would not condone any undisciplined conduct and the players have been told in clear terms that discipline is not negotiable,” said Prince Udofia, the team’s no-nonsense coordinator.
Meanwhile, the defending U-17 world champions began routine training soon as they had arrived Katsina on Monday at the Karkanda Stadium, with much of the morning session centered around players’ conditioning and physical fitness while the evening session involved serious ball work, as well as Tuesday’s sessions.
“We are here for business and you must be ready to do your best and conduct yourselves because only 21 players would eventually be picked for the World Cup in Chile,” said head coach Emmanuel Amuneke.
