LAS VEGAS, NV–(Marketwired – May 29, 2014) – Diamond Concierge Service founder Ron Khordi will debut a Google Glass live video stream of jewelry with customers during the JCK Las Vegas Jewelry Show beginning May 30th, 2014. When a customer’s ideal diamond is located at the show, Khordi will wear Google Glass from inside the vendor’s booth to broadcast live video to the customer’s mobile device using Livestream’s Glassware app. Diamond Concierge Service is hoping to pioneer a new model for selling diamonds or jewelry, via a mobile-to-mobile platform.
An open secret of the global diamond supply chain is that most inventory is physically located with manufacturers and wholesalers. All online stores and most retail stores simply consign diamonds during the sales process. That leaves an opening for what Khordi says Google Glass can fill.
“The retail diamond industry evolved quickly in the internet age. The jewelry store was a meeting point between a customer, company, and product. The desktop computer allowed the customer to remain at home, while connecting to a company and product. The mobile device allowed the customer to connect from anywhere,” says Khordi.
“Google Glass enables the next step in the evolution of the diamond industry, by connecting the product, wherever it is using a salesperson’s wearable device, and customers wherever they are using their mobile device,” says Khordi. The annual JCK Las Vegas jewelry shows brings nearly all major global diamond supplies together, an ideal venue to debut the feature to customers.
Reporters can join a live demo on Friday, May 30th at 12 p.m. PST/3 p.m. EST by visiting http://diamondconciergeservice.com/livestream
