Bayelsa State Governor, Hon Seriake Dickson says, marriage being an institution ordained by God should be jealously guided and protected by couples at all times.

Represented by his Principal Executive Secretary, Hon. Douye Diri, he described marriage as a sacred duty, which a man and a woman must strive to undertake at some point of their lives and urged the couple to see their union as a fulfillment of the scriptures, stressing that, they should always seek the face of God in all do to attract His blessings.
The Governor, who expressed satisfaction with the array of guests at the ceremony, noted that, the union of the couple has united the families of the bride and the groom, further strengthened the already existing bond friendship between the Efiks of Cross River State and the Ogbias of Bayelsa State and as well the brotherly ties between the two South-South States.
Drawing inspiration from the scriptures, the Governor pointed out that, the Groom, who has found a wife has indeed found a good thing and will continue to obtain favour from God, who has also ensured the manifestation of the marriage.
“He who finds a wife, finds a good thing and he who finds a good thing will obtain favour and as a union clearly made manifest by God, so it shall come to pass”
