The council chairmen took the oat of office unanimously, and then followed by the signing of the oat register.
Governor Fayose in his address said, the election was a promise made and kept, saying he has promised to conduct the local government election during his campaign and today it has come to past.
The governor said, he’s the first governor in southwest to conduct the local government election and urged the council chairmen to cut their cloths according to their sizes.
He said, they should realize there is no money in the local government and also urge the wives of the chairmen to support their husbands in moving the Local government to a greater height.
The council chairmen were advised not to raise their shoulder high to their councillors and implore them to work together for the good of the council.
“No Councillor will impeach any chairman under my watch”, the governor said. The governor therefore instruct an elder statesman, Senator Awoyelu to constitute a local government advisory committee to be in charge of and dispute in the council area.
Also sworn in at the event are the chairman local government commission, Architect Sola Omotoso, Commissioner 1, Chief Mrs. Tosin Ajisafe Aluko, Commissioner 2, Mr. Dare Omotoso. [EKSG]
