Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has been appointed Chairman of the National Convention Planning Committee of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
A statement released on Thursday by Governor Fintiri’s Press Secretary, Mr Humwashi Wonosikou, said the decision was reached earlier in the day at the 93rd National Executive Council meeting of the party in Abuja.
Governor Fintiri is to be assisted by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, according to the statement which explained that the Committee has 128 members.
The statement added that another Committee set up to ensure zoning of party offices for the Convention is to be chaired by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwaunyi of Enugu State.
The 44-member zoning committee has Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State as the Deputy Chairman.
The statement from the Government House in Yola said the Anambra State Governorship Campaign Committee, headed by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, was also inaugurated during the PDP Executive Council meeting on Thursday.
