Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has clarified that there is no conflict surrounding the Olubadan stool and urged those sowing discord over the issue to desist in the interest of the state.
The governor made this statement while welcoming Muslim faithful, including members of his cabinet and other high-ranking government officials, to his Ikolaba residence in Ibadan, the state capital.
He also mentioned that he was yet to receive any official communication from the Olubadan-in-Council regarding the nomination for the stool.

Governor Makinde expressed concern over individuals focusing on issues that divide the state along traditional lines, stating that there is no place for such division under his leadership.
Meanwhile, kingmakers in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, have scheduled Thursday, 11th April for the official ratification and announcement of the current Balogun of Ibadanland, Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.
This decision was reached at a meeting held on Monday at the Iwo Road residence of a former President of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Bode Amao.
The kingmakers in Ibadan consist of the eleven High Chiefs who are also members of Olubadan-in-Council.
