Governor Nwifuru Vows to Prevent Candidate Imposition in Ebonyi State’s Local Government Election
Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has pledged to resist the imposition of candidates ahead of the local government election scheduled for July 20, 2024.
Speaking during a church service at the Government House Chapel, Governor Nwifuru assured that all aspirants would be provided with a level playing field.

He emphasized the importance of stakeholder and grassroots participation in the candidate selection process, ensuring that credible representatives are chosen to serve the people.
Governor Nwifuru made these remarks during the Holy Mass at the New Government House in Centenary City, Abakaliki.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Dr. Monday Uzor, the Governor commended the Council Chairmen for their handling of security issues and interactions with grassroots communities.
He urged those seeking re-election to earn the trust and support of stakeholders and the people, noting that the party would resist any attempts to impose candidates.
Governor Nwifuru also cautioned government officials against actions that could tarnish the image of the government.
He appealed to the people of Ebonyi State to be patient, as the officials are still in the learning process, having been in office for less than a year.
