Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State urged political officeholders to maintain humility in serving the people during a thanksgiving service held on Sunday.
The occasion, dedicated to the Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly, Emeka Nwaobi, took place at St. Paul’s Catholic Cathedral Church in Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area.
Describing Nwaobi as a commendable individual, Governor Oborevwori encouraged him to continue serving with humility and to leverage his position for the unity and benefit of Aniocha North.

Reflecting on their political journey, the governor highlighted their shared experiences, emphasizing the role of divine intervention.
The governor expressed gratitude for the progression in their political paths, noting, “It is only God that can do a thing like that, and it is good to give thanks to Him for whatever happens.”
He acknowledged the significance of thanksgiving, alluding to the twists of fate that led to their current positions.
Emeka Nwaobi, in his remarks, thanked Governor Oborevwori and the party leadership for deeming him fit to serve as the Majority Leader of the House.
He pledged unwavering loyalty to the Speaker, members of the House, and urged constituents in Aniocha North, especially Issele-Uku kingdom, to continue supporting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for more dividends of democracy.
The thanksgiving service drew attendance from key figures, including Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme, immediate past governor Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly Emomotimi Guwor, and others, reflecting the significance of the event in the state’s political landscape.
